#BOSvacancy – Sovern now non-applicant

Thanks for your note and notice, Joel. I certainly concur with the decision to make all applicant information public. Further, when I sent you my note it was not with an expectation of it being in anyway private or confidential.

However, I do not consider my email an application. I consider it an inquiry.

Joan was kind enough to point out the need to make application which, of course, makes sense. I have decided not, however, to complete an application.

Thanks very much for your service and that of the other commission members.

Subject: All submitted documents considered public documents

Dear Messrs. Sovern and Hansen:

During Monday’s meeting of the Committee of County Officers designated to fill a vacancy on the Board of Supervisors, I made a motion, seconded by Gonzalez, and approved unanimously that applicants be made aware that all documents submitted, including resumes and cover letters, will be considered public records – see http://linncounty.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Minutes/04042016-1371.
